Play On Basics

I’ll let you in on a little secret. When I was in high school, my favorite outfit was an over-sized Tweety Bird sweatshirt, bell-bottom jeans, a 6-foot long pink yarn scarf and purple bifocals. There aren’t even words to describe the tragedy of my pubescent self. I’ve improved slightly with age and newly gleaned skills in eyebrow plucking and makeup application. For instance, I tossed the Lisa Frank inspired iridescent eye shadow. Now I’m simultaneously au natural with a healthy dose of the superficial.

Now I generally just throw on a tee, jeans, and a pair of boots. This outfit is the sexier, more polished version of my casual (and hopefully chic) daily attire.

My newest clothing obsession is the clothing from The Reformation. My former roommate introduced me to this sustainable, exclusive and trendy clothing line and now I compulsively check the site on the daily (after the instas of the guys I’m seeing). They have clothing that ranges from Sunday brunch tees, to work appropriate blouses, red carpet dresses and music festival bodysuits. Needless to say, it’s a one stop shop… minus the impact on my wallet.

Bodysuit: Reformation; Jeans: Levis; Booties: Report.
